What is OneOpinion?

OneOpinion was founded in 2011 by Hugh Davis and Keith Price under the operating company’s name Critical Mix.

OneOpinion is a survey aggregator site, which means that when you join the site, you are sent off to fill in third party companies surveys.

Surveys are conducted on behalf of leading market research companies.

How do you join?

Go to where you will be greeted by Emily the chat bot.

Emily will ask you a few questions, such as name, email address, password and street address. You will also have to confirm that you agree to their terms.

An email will then be sent to you to confirm your registration. Once that is done, you may begin to take surveys and earn Rewards.

Who can join OneOpinion?

At the moment One Opinion is only available to residents of the United States and the United Kingdom.

You must be at least 13 years old in order to join. Anyone between 13 to 18 years old will have to provide parental consent.

How much does it cost to join?

One Opinion is 100% free to join.

How does OneOpinion work?

With OneOpinion you can complete surveys you are invited to take by email, as well as logging into their website and participate to a survey of your choice.

You will earn points for every completed survey.

Once you have reached a minimum of 25000 points, you can redeem your rewards.

How many surveys can you take per day?

The amounts of surveys you can complete varies each day, depending on whether surveys can be matched to your profile.

So there is no amount limit, it all just depends on the clients’ needs.

Payments and rewards

OneOpinion pay you in points, where 1000 points equals $1.

Most surveys are worth 500 to 1000 points. You also get 50 points for each time you complete a survey but get disqualified due to your profile not matching the survey’s requirements.

Once you accumulate a minimum of 25000 points, you can redeem $25 via PayPal or various popular gift cards.

<img draggable= Low payment threshold – Get paid as soon you accumulate 25000 points = $25

<img draggable= Low ratings on Trustpilot

<img draggable= Low income opportunities

OneOpinion Trustpilot reviews

OneOpinion has had many complaints logged on Trustpilot, for a total of 3 out of 5 stars, which is considered as “average”.

Most of the complaints are about:

  • Low amounts of surveys available, making it hard to cash the $25 out
  • Bad algorithms which are unable to match you to the right surveys
  • Being disqualified after taking the surveys
  • Difficulties in cashing out the rewards

However, there are also many positive reviews, where users have claimed to have been able to make $25 to $50 a week (I find it hard to believe, since OneOpinion have very low pay rates).

Is OneOpinion legit or a scam?

One Opinion seems to be a legit company, especially since they take their screening process seriously and verify each and every registration before accepting a new member.

However, the bad Trustpilot reviews do put me off a little, so I would say that if you want to try OneOpinion out, then you should follow these steps:

  1. Create a separate email address to avoid future spam in case you decide to quit
  2. Follow your instincts, e.g. Take 5-10 surveys and get a feel for it. If you get disqualified after completing 80% of them, then go find a better opportunity to make money

Is OneOpinion worth joining?

Their low income opportunities don’t make OneOpinion worth joining.

If you really love surveys, I would recommend you go with other companies that pay a bit more, such as PopulusLive Surveys.

However, I must warn you that whatever survey company you decide to join, you will never be able to make a stable income by completing online surveys.

Paid surveys are more suitable to those who wish to make some pocket money in their spare time.

A better way to make money online

There are several ways to make money online legitimately, one of these being affiliate marketing.

In affiliate marketing what you do is promoting someone else’s product to get commission.

Let’s take for example Amazon’s affiliate program. Here is what you would do to make money:

  1. Join Amazon’s affiliate program
  2. Find a particular niche you are interested in, for example “pets”
  3. Look for best-sellers in the “pets” niche on Amazon
  4. Create a website (no technical skills needed) or a YouTube account (or both)
  5. Write/record a review of the product, including the affiliate link to that product on Amazon

Once a user finds your review and clicks on the affiliate link to buy the product, Amazon will reward you a commission for each purchase.

At this point you might wonder, how do people find my reviews?
