Time is a valuable resource that is quite interesting since once wasted, it is something that you wouldn't be able to bring back. Wasting time is not really everyone's cup of tea.
Time is also money, which means that wasted time is wasted money. Don't waste your money on pyramid schemes. Pyramid schemes are illegal.
Today we will be looking at a company called Nikken. Is Being a Nikken Independent Consultant a Waste of Time? Find out as you read on.

How to become a Nikken consultant
To join Nikken as a consultant, click this link.
You need an already existing Nikken consultant's details to proceed. If you do not know one, you can request the website to find one for you.
You can also use this link. Just fill up the application form and pay the $60 membership fee. You can select the products you would like in the Checkout page. Provide your payment details and you are good to go.
Nikken Enrollment Kits
Aside from the membership fee, there are no required enrollment kits for Nikken. To be able to purchase initial inventory, you can select the products in the Checkout section of the Nikken online application form.
However, take note that you should not spend so much on initial inventory especially if you haven't been trained yet by your sponsor. You should be able to know how a product works properly before you can sell and market it.
Purchasing excessive amounts of inventory would help boost your rank, but you have to know that if you want to climb the ranks and earn money, you need to make sales.
What are Nikken consultant levels?
There are 9 total ranks in Nikken. Each rank requires the member to reach a certain sales quota on a monthly basis.
- Direct Distributor
- Senior Distributor
- Executive Distributor
- Bronze Distributor
- Silver Distributor
- Gold Distributor
- Platinum Distributor
- Diamond Distributor
- Royal Diamond Distributor
Nikken Compensation Plan
Nikken's compensation plan can be accessed and viewed through this link.
These are the ways to make money through Nikken:
- Selling products. Consultants enjoy discounted prices for products, which they could sell for retail prices.
- Recruiting members. Consultants earn commissions for recruiting members in their team, and from the new members' sales.
I found a video on YouTube that could explain the compensation plan better. You can watch it below.
Nikken Pros and Cons
Do Nikken consultants make money?
According to Nikken's 2016 Average Consultant Income Sheet, 11.94% of consultants earned $116.06 on that year. 20.66% earned $199.29, 14.89% earned $203.67, and 5.05% earned $169.
This means that majority of the consultants earned less than $17 a month. This is outrageous. For all the effort you have to do as a consultant, like hosting parties, taking orders, shipping goods, maintaining your website, getting in touch with possible recruits and many others, this is not enough compensation.
$17 is roughly 57 cents a day. That isn't even daily minimum wage. This is one of the lowest paying MLMs I have heard of. We have data to back it up, and we know that the data never lies.
As you can see from the data presented to us by the income disclosure statement, we could say that a majority of these members did not earn much at all. I would like to point out that maybe some of them did not even make money.
I truly believe that there are better ways to make money online than joining MLM companies such as Nikken and Xyngular. However, there is still a percentage of people earning money from MLMs. If the company is a scam, then the data would have been different.
Nikken has its fair share of lawsuits, controversies, and negative reviews.
In 1999, Amway sued Nikken for allegedly copying patented designs for pain-blocking magnets. However, a federal judge dismissed the case.
Nikken also published claims that their products help with Alzheimer's, arthritis, autism, cancer, diabetes, and fibromyalgia, but each claim was disproved by medical health professionals.
In this post, a Reddit user is so fed up with their mother-in-law's insistence on using Nikken's products. Their mother-in-law claimed that it could help cure her mental health problems, and even cure their sick cat.
On this other post, a Reddit user shares the experience of their partner's mother in being a part of Nikken. They commented on how expensive the products are, and how their partner's mother struggled to make money with the MLM.
Is Nikken legit?
Yes, Nikken is a legit company that has been in business for many years now.
However, MLMs tend to get a bad reputation for the following reasons:
- Team leaders focus more on the recruiting aspect instead of training members in sales and marketing
- Members, who lack proper training, end up clueless and lose money instead of earn
If you can find the right team that will support you to go for your goals, you can all grow and succeed together. Joining a team is the very first step to your MLM journey.
As you continue your path with the right team and the proper training, there is a guarantee that you will succeed in your goals.
Is Nikken a Pyramid Scheme?
First of all, let's look at what a Pyramid Scheme is:
"A pyramid scheme is a business model that recruits members via a promise of payments or services for enrolling others into the scheme, rather than supplying investments or sale of products." - Wikipedia
As Nikken consultants make money both by recruiting other team members AND by selling products to customers, it is safe to say that Nikken is not a Pyramid Scheme!
How to succeed with Nikken and any other online business
MLMs tend to get bashed because the majority of people who sign up for them do not make money. We could clearly see it in the data stated in the income disclosure statements we encounter.
This is because the team leaders who are supposed to train their team and teach them the proper skills they need make them focus on recruiting instead. What is the point of having all these products if you do not intend on selling them anyway?
Here is the thing... You cannot force your family and friends to sign up for your MLM. You cannot force them to buy your products if they genuinely have no need or interest in them. You will just end up ruining your relationships with the people close to you.
You need to find your target market, as they are the people who are willing to sustain your business by making purchases. The recurring purchases of the people who like your products add up over time. Finding your target market is the easiest way for you to succeed.
There are two popular ways to do this:
- Set up paid adverts that target a specific audience within your niche
- Find a way to generate free organic traffic that can be turned into sales
The first option is very expensive and if you are just starting out, then I recommend you scrap that for now.
The second one is completely doable and inexpensive, in fact, you can even get the right tools and information for FREE.
In this FREE Make Money Online Course, you can learn a number of things that can help you succeed with Nikken and any other similar businesses.
