Is Jeunesse a Pyramid Scam or a Legit Money Making Opportunity?

There are many pyramid schemes in disguise out there and since this kind of business model is often illegal, it is extremely important to check whether your next business venture falls into that category.

Today I will be talking about Jeunesse business opportunity. Is Jeunesse a Pyramid Scam or a legit direct sales company?

In this post, I am going to highlight Jeunesse's compensation plan, the pros and cons of joining Jeunesse, as well as showing you what you should and should NOT do if you want to succeed with Jeunesse 🙂

What is Jeunesse?

Jeunesse was launched in 2009 by Randy Ray and Wendy Lewis.

Randy and Wendy had achieved tremendous success in the past with other businesses, until they eventually retired.

However, in 2009 they decided to emerge from retirement to share their new products and ideas with the world, as well as setting up what they define as the most rewarding compensation plans in the direct selling industry.

Jeunesse sells a variety of beauty and wellness products such as:

  • Age creams
  • Cellular rejuvenation serums
  • Body cleansers
  • Dietary supplements

How to become a Jeunesse consultant

In order to become a Jeunesse consultant you need to know the name of a sponsor who will enrol you in their team.

If you don't know any sponsor, you can simply type "Join Jeunesse" in your search engine and you will be presented with many articles written by existing sponsors who can get you to enrol via their direct link.

Once you have a sponsor, you can commence the enrolment process by first agreeing to the Jeunesse Financial Rewards Plan, Terms & Conditions, and Policies and Procedures.

You will next need to fill in a form with your details such as name, address and contact information and finally choose an enrolment package before submitting the form.

About Jeunesse Starter Kits

When I tried to sign up directly via one of the sponsors' links, there only seemed to be one Starter Kit and two Sign Up Packages available:

Starter Kit - $29.95 (Annual Renewal is $19.95)

  • Retail website

  • Backoffice with business management and reporting system

Basic Combo Package - $199.95

However, if you sign up via this link, you will have many more options to choose from, going from "Create your own package" all the way to the "Ambassador Platinum Package" currently costing $2,299.95

Some of these packages will allow you to fast-track to the next consultant level.

Should you wish to resign from being a Jeunesse consultant within the first 30 days of enrolment, your initial order will be refunded 100% . If you decide to resign within the first year instead, you will be entitled to receive a 90% refund of your subsequent orders as long as the products are still unopened.

Jeunesse Compensation Plan

Jeunesse have set out their compensation plan on this pdf document.

However, the plan is quite complicated to understand, so I have found a nice video that better explains how Jeunesse compensation plan works:

Jeunesse Pros and Cons

PROS

  • Lots of consultants levels to look forward to
  • Low start up cost
  • Company has been around for many years

CONS

  • Monthly auto-ship required to keep your account active
  • Extremely low earnings if you are pushed to use the wrong marketing strategies
  • Lots of emphasis in recruiting rather than selling products

Do Jeunesse consultants make money?

According to Jeunesse's 2019 compensation report, only 59.96% of consultants earned more than $245.

Here is the full report from all the trackable sales and commissions (they do not track all in person sales):

  • 59.96% (about 4,475) earned more than $245 and the rest made less
  • 13.14 % (about 1,035) earned more than $4,350
  • 2.12% (about 158) earned more than $82,000

On average, the top 1% of all earners took 6 years to get to where they are.

I truly believe that there are better ways to make money online than joining MLM companies such as Jeunesse, however even with these companies you can find success as long as you use the right marketing strategies (more on this at the bottom of this post).

Is Jeunesse legit?

Yes, Jeunesse is a legit company that has been around for many years now.

Unfortunately, MLMs in general tend to get a bad reputation for the following reasons:

  • Many team leaders push their team to recruit more, rather than selling products
  • There is still a tendency to market products on personal social media profiles, rather than using marketing strategies that will actually work

But this does not dictate whether a company is legit or a scam!

If you can join a team where you are allowed to freely implement your own strategies, then you have no reason to worry about losing money long-term.

Is Jeunesse a Pyramid Scam?

First of all, let's look at what a Pyramid Scheme is:

"A pyramid scheme is a business model that recruits members via a promise of payments or services for enrolling others into the scheme, rather than supplying investments or sale of products." Wikipedia

how-a-pyramid-scheme-works

As Jeunesse consultants make money both by recruiting other team members AND by selling products to customers, it is safe to say that Jeunesse is not a Pyramid Scam!

How to succeed with Jeunesse and any other online business

MLMs tend to get a bad reputation because generally people struggle to make money with them.

This is because of leaders that insist in "training" their team members to sell products via social medias by bombarding family and friends.

Here is the thing... You cannot rely on friends and family to make a full time income as a consultant!

You need to find a way to reach those people who are actually looking to buy what you can offer.

There are two popular ways to do this:

  1. Set up paid adverts that target a specific audience within your niche
  2. Find a way to generate free organic traffic that can be turned into sales

The first option is very expensive and if you are just starting out, then I recommend you scrap that for now.

The second one is completely doable and inexpensive, in fact, you can even get the right tools and information for FREE.

In my FREE 7-day Make Money Online Course, I teach a number of things that can help you succeed with Jeunesse and any other similar businesses.

By the end of the course, you will have the following knowledge:
